Rose of Sharon Baptist Church (ROSBC) is a 112-year-old church located in Alexandria, Louisiana where we are currently accepting applications for the position of Pastor. We are a church family that is bible-based and holy-spirit led to carry out the Great Commission as given to us by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We believe in the spiritual qualifications based on 1Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and 1 Peter 5:1-4.

In addition to the spiritual qualifications, the ideal applicant should have the ability to work with the present ministerial staff, church officers and staff, and establish ministries and programs that will address the needs of all ages, genders, and socio-economic backgrounds. It will be incumbent upon the next person God calls to Pastor ROSBC to have gifts in leadership, communication, administration, and a heart to care for people as they grow in the knowledge of God. 

The minimum qualifications are: 

  • Must be an Ordained Minister holding to Missionary Baptist Teachings 
  • Must have pastoral experience 
  • Be a servant-leader, an effective communicator, and a community advocate
  • Have the ability to build and oversee church ministries and successfully cast a vision 
  • Must be in full agreement with the ROSBC By-Laws and Policies & Procedures 
  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is desired 
  • Must have seminary training 

    • Interested candidates must submit all items listed below. All information provided will be shredded and discarded after deliberation and when the Pastoral Search is completed. 

  • Cover Letter
  • ROSBC Application 
  • Current Resume (including email address and contact telephone numbers) 
  • Statement of Faith 
  • Copy of Ministerial License and Certificate of Ordination
  • Verification of completion of degree (s) (undergraduate and/or graduate), including official transcripts
  • Proof of theology training, degree(s), and church and community involvement
  • DVD of a recent sermon, theological education seminar or session within the last 12 months may be requested later

     The candidate application package must be postmarked by December 31, 2020. Any packages postmarked after that date will be destroyed without consideration.     The Pastoral Search Committee will acknowledge receipt of all requested items by email notification. All information will be treated as confidential. Final candidates must consent to a criminal background check, credit and financial history review and provide other information as requested by the committee.
